22 strength verses for the sick

In Christ we can renew our strength even in the midst of sickness and pain. In the Bible we find verses that strengthen us and affirm us because they speak about God’s move in the midst of illness or uncertainty. We can go to the Lord in times of sickness and hope in him. He accompanies us and works.

1. Isaiah 40:28-29

Don’t you know?
Haven’t you heard?
The Lord is the eternal God,
creator of the ends of the earth.
It does not get tired or fatigued,
and his intelligence is unfathomable.
He strengthens the weary
and increases the forces of the weak.

2. Psalm 46:1

God is our shelter and our strength,
our sure help in times of distress.

3. Isaiah 53:5

7. James 5:14-16
