Our world is full of events and situations that can cause great fear and anxiety. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed and live in the grip of fear. We are promised in God’s Word that he is faithful and will protect us (2 Thessalonians 3:3). God wants us to let go of fear and live life to the fullest! (John 10:10) When you feel overwhelmed with worry, use these protection prayers to remind yourself of who God is and the protection he has promised you.

1. Prayer for Personal Protection
Father, today I come to You, prostrated in my heart, asking for protection from the evil one. Lord, we are assaulted moment by moment with images on television, the internet, books, and newspapers that leave us vulnerable to sin of all kinds. Surround us with your divine fence of protection. Surround us around with Your strength and Your power. May all those who take refuge in You rejoice, may they always sing for joy. And may You shelter us, so that those who love Your name may rejoice in You. For it is you who bless the righteous, O LORD, you surround him with favor as with a shield. (Psalm 5:11-12)
Lord, I ask you to protect our minds. Father, the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace. (Romans 8:6) O God, set our minds on You. Let us not conform to this world, but transform ourselves by renewing our minds so that we can prove what is your will, what is good, acceptable and perfect. (Romans 12:2) Help us by the power of your Spirit to think what is true, what is honorable, what is just, what is pure, what is lovely, what is of good report, if there is any excellence and if anything is worthy of praise, let our mind dwell on these things. (Philippians 4:8)
Strengthen us with the power of your might, O God. Clothe us with Your armor so that we can stand firm against the devil’s wiles. We know that our fight is not against blood and flesh, but against principalities, against powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly regions. (Ephesians 6:10-12)

2. Prayer for the protection and safety of the family
Lord, I pray for your emotional, physical and spiritual protection over my children (grandchildren). Keep evil away from them, and help them trust in You as their refuge and strength. I pray that You will guard their minds from harmful instruction and grant them discernment to recognize the truth. I pray that you will make them strong and courageous in the presence of danger, recognizing that you have overcome and will correct all injustice and wrong one day. Help them to find rest in Your shadow, while they live in the spiritual refuge that You give them. 3. Prayer for the safety of children
Lord, I pray that my children (grandchildren) will develop an eternal perspective and purpose, not an earthly one. Help them to see life, and every challenge, through your eyes, willing and unafraid to share the good news of Jesus with others wherever they go. I pray that they will set their minds on things above, not just what is going on here, and that they will be rooted and grounded in Your love. I pray that they will come to understand the scope of Your own love for them, that it surpasses all the intellectual knowledge that they will acquire in school. 4. Protective prayer “Breastplate of Saint Patrick”:
Celtic monks used it to start the day. The hymn had several verses, and the last two were especially memorable and moving:
Christ be with me, Christ within me,
Christ behind me, Christ before me,
Christ by my side, Christ to win me,
Christ to comfort and restore me.
Christ below me, Christ above me,
Christ in stillness, Christ in danger,
Christ in the hearts of all who love me,
Christ in the mouth of friend and stranger.

The strong Name of the Trinity;

5. “Priestly Blessings” Prayer from Scripture:
Numbers 6:22-27 is known as the “Priestly Blessing” or sometimes the “Aaronic Blessing.” There are seven requests made in this prayer.
Jehovah told Moses: “Tell Aaron and his sons, ‘Thus you shall bless the sons of Israel. Tell them: ‘Jehovah bless you’. and keep you the LORD make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; The LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace. The word “bless” means “to provide favor or benefit.” Father, we pray for our children. You are the Eternal God. Please put Your great goodness and advantage over those whom we love. May they be approved and favored by You.

The Hebrew word “guard” means “to watch, protect, defend.” This is a prayer of protection. Father, my children are not perfect. They are going to make mistakes. But please take care of them and protect them from the mistakes of youth that are unalterable. Please defend them from temptation. Protect them from Satan that he desires. to devour them.
3. The Lord make his face shine upon you…
This is a request for the presence of God. Father, as a father I know that I cannot be with my children all the time. time, but you can. Just as they feel the warmth of the sun shining on them, please allow them to experience Your presence. Thank you for being with them wherever they go.
4. and be kind to you…
Grace is the unmerited favor of God. He gives us what we don’t deserve. Father, thank you for your gift of grace. I pray that this gift will be poured out on my children. Following that great gift of salvation, please show them your kindness and love in all the endeavors of their lives.
5. The Lord turn his face towards you…
Here is a request for God’s fellowship. Father, thank you that because of his trust in Jesus, the Holy Spirit lives in my children. Please, he walks with them in a powerful way. Allow them to submit to the control of the Spirit day by day and moment by moment.
6. and give you peace.
The Hebrew word for peace used here is “shalom.” It means “fullness, fullness and satisfaction.” Lord, please calm the fears of my children; soothe their anxious souls. Keep them complete and whole in their thoughts, emotions, desires and actions.
7. So they will put my name on ___________ (your child/children’s name).
This is a request for identification. Lord please put your holy mark on my children. Separate them for you to use. I love them but You love them more. You love them with an everlasting love. May they represent you well on their earthly path. And when their journey is over, welcome them home to live forever with you.

6. Prayer of Comfort and Protection
Loving God, thank you for being the Father who longs to shower me with love and kindness. Help me recognize it, accept it and embrace it. It leads to life far beyond what you could hope or imagine.
