Word of Offering in the Bible
Each one should give as he has determined in his heart, not with regret or under obligation, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to cause all grace to be added to you, so that in all things, at all times, having everything you need, you may overflow in every good work.
Bring the entire tithe to the temple storehouse, so that there will be food in my house. Put me to the test,” says the Lord of hosts, “and see if I will not open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so many blessings upon you that you will not have anywhere to store them.
Honor the Lord
with all its resources
and with the first fruits
of all his plantations; your barns
will be completely full,
and its barrels will overflow with wine.
“Therefore, if you are offering your gift before the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar and go first and be reconciled with your brother; then come back and present your gift .
“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal. But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy and where thieves do not break in and steal. For Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
“Whoever is faithful in a little is also faithful in much, and whoever is dishonest in a little is also dishonest in a lot. So if you are not trustworthy in dealing with the riches of this ungodly world, who will entrust the true riches to you?
“No one can serve two masters; for he will hate one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and Money.
Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What are we going to drink?’ or ‘What are we going to wear?’ For the pagans are the ones who run after these things; but your heavenly Father knows you need them. Therefore, seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it,
the world and those who live in it;
“Woe to you, Pharisees, because you give God a tithe of mint, rue and all kinds of vegetables, but you despise justice and the love of God! You should do these things, without ceasing to do those things.
