What does the bible say about treasures in heaven?

However, we live in a capitalist-leaning society where it is almost impossible to see someone share their bread with the one who suffers. This motto is also strongly quoted: “Everyone for themselves and God for everyone!”

- Put hope in God so you don’t get confused: “All those who hope in you will not be confused; The infidels without a cause will be put to shame.” Psalm 25:3.
- Do good to people like David did: “Therefore, the one who knows how to do the right thing and does not do it, commits a sin” James 4:17.
- Galatians 6:9-10: Let us not get tired of doing good; because we will reap in due time if we don’t relax. So, while we have the chance, let’s do good to everyone, and especially to fellow believers.
Earn treasures in heaven and be rich in good works:

- Have liberality and generosity: “He who gives generously becomes richer; and the one who saves excessively, he only becomes poorer. It is important to remember the words of our Lord Jesus Christ: “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and rust corrupt, and where thieves break in and steal.” Earthly riches are uncertain and fleeting and must be used for the fulfillment of God’s purposes for his kingdom.
The gospel of the day: store up the treasures in heaven
The Lord Jesus teaches us not to rack our brains to accumulate treasure on earth, but to equip ourselves with God’s words, to seek the truth, to obey and love God, to respect God’s will, and to satisfy His demands.
It is accumulating treasures in heaven and also preparing good works for our end and our final destination. When the great disaster comes, no matter how many treasures we have on earth, they will not be able to save us from this disaster.
Only if we prepare enough good deeds can we receive God’s protection during a disaster and be guided by God to a beautiful destination.
How should we prepare enough good works to store up treasures in heaven?
For exampleevangelizing and bearing witness to God, helping brothers and sisters who are dedicated to working for the Lord Jesus, welcoming those who are homeless due to persecution.
All of these are good works that are after God’s heart. Just as God says:
- “I hope you are preparing enough good deeds for your own destiny. Then I will be satisfied; otherwise none of you will escape the catastrophe that will befall you. It is Me who causes the catastrophe and, of course, it is orchestrated by Me. If you can’t look good to Me, then you won’t avoid disaster.”
What does Jesus say about the treasures in heaven?
The first thing we must see are the gospels that speak about this controversial subject. Let’s look at a key passage that talks about true heavenly wealth:
- “Do not lay up treasures on earth, where moths and rust corrupt, and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in or steal. Because where your treasure is, your heart will also be. The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eye is in good condition, your whole body will light up; but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be in darkness. - God told us to provide for our families. “If someone does not take care of his own, and especially those of his family, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel. “(1 Timothy 5:8)
- God told us to support the church. “Each one of you, on the first day of the week, set aside what you can in your home, according to your prosperity, so that you do not wait for my arrival to collect the gifts. “(1 Corinthians 16.2)
God did not forbid us the right to property.

Jesus told us not to store up treasures on earth. Literally, “do not hoard or lay up treasures on earth” Why?
